Here at Hickok & Boardman HR Intelligence we understand our clients need various services and resources to help them maintain compliance with their Human Resource functions. Laws and regulations change over time and along with all the day-to-day activities you are responsible for, it’s hard to stay on top of those changes. We can help by reducing your employer concerns and non-compliance risk while increasing efficiencies and improving communications. This allows you time to strategically manage and grow your business.
HR is involved in all areas of employment, from hiring to terminations, and there are compliance concerns in each of those areas. Our main focus is to provide compliance information, consulting and educational opportunities for all levels of HR professionals. Education truly is the key to compliance!
Staying compliant with employment laws is more difficult than it used to be. We have seen more new laws and regulations this past few years than any other time in history! It’s hard to keep up! The Dept. of Labor and IRS have increased the number audits they anticipate doing in the next few years. Are you prepared? Best practices dictate that the smartest way to prepare for an audit is to audit yourself before an official agency knocks on your door. Being proactive instead of reactive grows your organization faster and helps you build a smarter workforce!
We can help! Let us do a Basic HR/Payroll Audit for you to determine any areas you may need more information on. Contact us for more information and our fee structure.
The Affordable Care Act
Since the passing of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) in 2010, much of the Dept. of Labor and IRS’ focus has been in this area. The passing of this law has also “woken up” many other aspects of your health & welfare benefits compliance. The 1974 Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) is now under more scrutiny with audits on plan documents, summary plan descriptions and non-discrimination testing results. Many employers are also discovering that their payroll and HR technology systems may not be as adequate in meeting the requirements of the ACA’s reporting rules. We can provide information, document processes and help you streamline your work load to maintain compliance with this new and challenging law! Contact us!
