Brenda joined Hickok & Boardman HR Intelligence in 2013 and has worked in the field of human resources and payroll for over twenty seven years. She was the Payroll & Benefits Manager for a major and rapidly growing national company based in Vermont. This growth and its ensuing challenges enabled Brenda to gain expertise in benefits, payroll, regulatory compliance, and best practice procedures in HR administration.

After leaving the corporate world in 2003, Brenda founded an HR Consulting & Training business which she continued for 10 years.  Key Concepts, LLC was an organization dedicated to providing a wide array of benefit communications and awareness programs for employees of small to medium sized organizations. Brenda worked with organizations to help them in the compliance areas of various HR and payroll obligations. In addition, Brenda conducted a variety of workshops nationally that focused on HR-related regulatory compliance, best practice procedures and benefits administration for employers of all sizes. She has also created a comprehensive payroll audit that she conducted for employers at the national level as well.


From September of 2005 through April of 2011 she was employed with an online human resources management and HR compliance service created for small businesses while maintaining her training and consulting business.

Brenda currently holds the certifications as a Certified Benefits Professional (CBP),a Senior Professional HR (SPHR), a SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) and a Certified Healthcare Reform Specialist (CHRS).
