Employers' Top Worry is Health Costs
In a recent ADP survey of 750 mid-sized U.S. companies, executives were asked what their top economic and business concerns were. The main concerns were:
- Health Costs - 69 percent are concerned with the cost of health coverage and other benefits
- Health Care Reform - 54 percent are concerned with health care reform legislation
- Government Regulations - 51 percent are concerned with the level and volume of government regulations
Many are fearful that these costs and regulations will interrupt what has been a fairly rosy economic picture over the past two years. Many are doubtful that the economy’s momentum can be maintained. Finding ways to address these concerns will be a main priority in the coming year.
